Carpet Replacement


  1. If necessary, remove the bolts, then remove the grab handle bracket (A). Remove the remaining grab handle brackets, as needed.

    Fastener Locations
    : Bolt, 6

  1. Install the headliner in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
  • When reinstalling the headliner through the door opening, be careful not to fold or bend it. Also, be careful not to scratch the body.
  • If the threads on a visor and grab handle screws are worn out, use an oversized self-tapping ET screw made specifically for this application.
  • Check that both sides of the headliner are securely attached to the trim.

NOTE:

  • Put on gloves to protect your hands.
  • Take care not to damage, wrinkle or twist the carpet.
  • Be careful not to damage the dashboard or other interior trim pieces.
  1. Remove these items:
  • Front seats, both sides (see page 20-87)
  • Rear seat cushion, folding type (see page 20-95), fixed type (see page 20-96)
  • Rear seat side bolsters, both sides, folding type (see page 20-95)
  • Kick panels, both sides (see page 20-64)
  • Front door sill trim, both sides (see page 20-64)
  • Seat side trim, both sides (see page 20-64)
  • Centre console (see page 20-73)
  • Driver's dashboard under cover (see page 20-76)
  • Passenger's dashboard lower cover (see page 20-78)
  1. LHD: Remove the nut (A), and using a hex wrench, release the clip (B), then remove the footrest (C).
