  1. Shift to any position other than
  1. Measure the voltage between PCM connector terminals C13 and A23 or A24.

PCM CONNECTORS

Wire side of female terminals

Is there about 5 V?

YES - Go to step 11.

NO - Check for short in the wire between PCM connector terminal C20 and the transmission range switch. If the wire is OK, check for loose terminal fit in the PCM connectors. If necessary, substitute a known-good PCM and recheck.

  2. Measure the voltage between PCM connector terminals C9 and A23 or A24.

Is there about 5 V?

YES - Go to step 13.

NO - Check for short in the wire between PCM connector terminal C9 and the transmission range switch. If the wire is OK, check for loose terminal fit in the PCM connectors. If necessary, substitute a known-good PCM and recheck.

Is there about 5 V?

YES - Go to step 15.

NO - Check for short in the wire between PCM connector terminal C11 and the transmission range switch. If the wire is OK, check for loose terminal fit in the PCM connectors. If necessary, substitute a known-good PCM and recheck.

  2. Measure the voltage between PCM connector terminals C12 and A23 or A24.

Is there about 5 V?

YES - Check for loose terminal fit in the PCM connectors. If necessary, substitute a known-good PCM and recheck.

NO - Check for short in the wire between PCM connector terminal C12 and the transmission range switch. If the wire is OK, check for loose terminal fit in the PCM connectors. If necessary, substitute a known-good PCM and recheck.
